Abstract

Patients in the intensive care unit (ICU) usually have muscle weakness problems that are not related to their primary diseases when admitted ICU. This problem may become a clinical syndrome that we called ICU-Acquired Weakness (ICU-AW). There is currently no specific treatment for ICU-AW, therefore preventing patients from ICU-AW by controlling associated risk factors such as immobility, becoming a critical approach. Early mobilization (EM) has many benefits in the ICU setting for patients with or without mechanical ventilation. Besides that, the realization of EM needs consider the safety criteria and the barriers to their application. Thus, there are guidelines for the realization of EM to give the best outcomes while minimalizing the adverse events.

Abstract

Introduction: Several training techniques are used to improve the performance of taekwondo athletes, one of which is sprint running. Sprinting is one of the branches of athletic sports which requires strength, muscle power, agility and speed. Dollyo chagi kicks is most often used both in attack and defense in taekwondo competition. To be a profesional athlete, they must have sport components such as muscle strengh, muscle power, speed, flexibility, agility, and endurance. The winner of the taekwondo competition is determined by the number of points earned. The author choose the speed an power of dollyo chagi because it is reliable to get points taekwondo matches. Methods: This is a quasi-experimental study with one-group pre-test and post-test design. Using purposive sampling techniques, seventeen junior taekwondo athletes (9 males and 8 female) were recruited. The athletes were trained with 50-meter sprint run for 4 weeks with intensity of 3 sets and 4 times a week. Result: Speed of dollyo chagi kicks increase significantly 17.74% (p <0.05) and power of dollyo chagi kicks increase significantly 23.06% (p <0.05). Conclusion: 50m sprint training can increase the speed and power of dollyo chagi kicks in taekwondo athletes.

Abstract

Introduction: During the COVID-19 pandemic, where the disease might spread in a medical facility setting, the common problems found in every country is the shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) for medical personnel – especially the disposable N95 respirators. Thus, a higher amplitude to disinfect and reuse N95 is urgently needed. In this study, we designed an effective and safe disinfection methods through an Ultraviolet Germicidal Irradiation (UVGI) chamber in Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital to control the shortage of PPE by disinfecting and reusing disposable N95 respirators. Purpose: To evaluate the dosage and effectiveness of UV-C radiation for disposable N95 respirators disinfection in our designated UVGI chamber. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design to determine the dose and the effectiveness of UV-C radiation in eradicating SARS-CoV 2 on disposable N95 respirators. Results: Using two different distances from the light source, we confirmed the inverse square law of UV-C radiation power. Irradiation for 2 hours with a radiation dose of 1080 mJ/cm2 resulted in undetected SARS-CoV-2 gene based on PCR examination in 10 out of 10 samples. Conclusion: This UVGI chamber is a potential solution for hospitals or medical facilities to overcome the limitations that occurred in the pandemic by disinfecting PPE.

Abstract

Introduction: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a global health problem with consistently increasing prevalence and incidence, poor prognosis, and high cost. CKD ranks third in funding in Indonesia, reaching IDR 2.3 trillion/year in 2018. Integrated Guidance Post (Posbindu) program affiliated to PHC (Puskesmas) with community cadres has been launched as a community empowerment effort to suppress CKD incidence. This study aimed to strengthen the capacity of Posbindu cadres as the health driving force about CKD to encourage public awareness of CKD risk factors. Method: This quasi-experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design compared four education models for Posbindu cadres in four PHC in Yogyakarta to improve their knowledge of CKD. All education models used the smart module with models 3 and 4 explicitly involving health-worker collaboration. Model 1 used posters, model 2 used leaflets, while model 4 also used posters and leaflets. Knowledge of CKD was assessed through a previously-validated questionnaire with four knowledge domains. Result: All of the 86 cadres were women aged 43.7±8.6 years, mostly with at least high-school education and no risk factors for CKD predisposition. The results showed that model 4 significantly improved knowledge of CKD risk factors, symptoms and examination, and prevention behavior. Meanwhile, improvement in the last domain about CKD treatment was likely affected by model 3. Conclusion: This study confirmed health-worker collaboration’s significance in increasing public knowledge of CKD. Adding various printed education media effectively increased knowledge of CKD, particularly in cadres with higher educational attainment.

Abstract

Introduction : Cervical cancer is most common cancer in women in Asia Oceania and worldwide. VIA(Visual Inspection after Acetic acid) is being used as an alternative in low- and middle-income countries due to the minimal equipment required. Data from recent systematic reviews and multicentre trials show that VIA to be moderately sensitive for precancerous lesions, as compared with Pap testing. This study aim to determine the incidence of positive VIA, LBC, HPV DNA testing and colposcopy findings obtained from positive VIA cases in Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study. Data was collected from cervical cancer screening by VIA examination at Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital, Jakarta, Indonesia in 2017. Age, VIA results were recorded. The results showed abnormal and predictive cancer lesions (acetowhite lesion) were defined as a “positive test.” The positive VIA result followed by LBC, HPV DNA testing, and Colposcopy. Only 25 performed LBC and HPV DNA test, and 30 of the VIA positive were performed Colposcopy. Results: A total of 1.960 subjects were recruited for this study. The mean age of the subjects was 34.5 years, and 908 (46 %) subjects belong to the 30-40 years age group. Negative VIA result were found in 1893 subjects (96,58%) and 67 subjects (3,42%) had positive results. From 25 VIA positive subject whose gone through LBC and HPV test, 9 subjects (36%) had abnormal LBC, 3 subjects (12%) had positive HPV DNA test. From 30 positive VIA whose got colposcopy examination 17 subjects (56,6 %) had abnormal colposcopy. Conclusions: The number of VIA screening participants in RSCM, Jakarta, Indonesia with positive VIA results is low. Further studies regarding the validation of VIA are required to evaluate its diagnostic value.

Out of 116 patients in this study, the majority were male (58.62%). Most patients first diagnosed at the age of 0 – <1 year (76.72%) with normal nutritional status (51.72%). Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF) is the most common type (42.24%). Murmur was the most common sign and symptom (92.24%). Frequently observed complications were pneumonia (37.07%).Conclusion. Patients with cyanotic CHD are mostly male, diagnosed at the age of 0 – <1 year with normal nutritional status. TOF is the most common type. Most patients present with murmurs.
